A hammam is less a spa treatment than a proper wash. You sit in the steam until the skin softens, then you are covered in savon beldi (the dark olive-based soap), left to sit, and scrubbed down with a coarse kessa mitt by someone who has done it several thousand times. Buckets of warm water finish the job. What follows is the gentle half: a full-body massage with argan oil, then mint tea while you come back to yourself. Around two hours in all. There is no fixed departure. Tell us the time that suits you and we will put a driver on it. The price is agreed when you book and settled in cash with your driver on the day.
