Q: Is the water actually swimmable?

Yes, and it is cold. These are spring-fed pools in shaded rock, not a warm lagoon. Spring holds the highest water; by late summer some of the upper pools drop and the walk between them gets longer. Bring swimwear, something on your feet for wet rock, and a towel.

Q: Is the €25 per person or for the car?

€25 is per person. €50 takes the vehicle privately for your group alone, which is what most couples and families choose. You set the pace at the pools instead of following a group's clock. Either way the price is fixed before you travel and paid to the driver in cash on the day.

The road out of Agadir climbs through Aourir and follows the riverbed inland, and after about 60 km the argan slopes open into a gorge cut deep into the mountain. Paradise Valley is a chain of green pools held between smooth grey rock, fed by spring water off the Atlas and cold enough to make you shout on the way in. Your driver parks where the tarmac stops; from there it is a walk down past the palms and the riverside cafes, and the rest of the day is yours to swim, dry off on a warm rock and watch the local kids throw themselves off the ledges.
