The road runs south out of Agadir through the argan country to Tiznit, a town still sitting inside its red pisé ramparts. The silver souk there is a courtyard of small workshops, and the men bent over the benches are making the pieces on sale a few metres away. After lunch it is on to the coast. Legzira had two sandstone arches until the larger one came down in 2016. What draws people now is the beach itself: a long sweep of red cliff and dark sand with the Atlantic running straight at it, and almost nobody on it outside the summer weeks.
