Dalle piscine turchesi di Paradise Valley ai margini del Sahara e alla Città Rossa di Marrakech: le dieci migliori escursioni da Agadir.
Five trips out of Agadir fill up before the rest, and the cheapest of the five is the one we would send you on first: Paradise Valley, €25 per person. After that the Agadir city tour at €15, Essaouira and the desert safari at €40 each, and Marrakech at €45. Nothing on the list falls outside €15 to €70 a head. Paradise Valley is the strongest single pick for a first visit, with one condition attached: it wants a wet season, because the pools shrink to almost nothing after a long dry spell. Marrakech and Essaouira each swallow a day end to end, so on a stay of a week or less, pair one long day with one short one rather than stacking two long ones.
Agadir works well as a base, and that is exactly what makes the choosing hard. Twenty things get offered to you, and almost nobody ranks them. What you rarely get told is which trips justify a whole day out of seven, and which are a pleasant two hours you could drop without regret. What follows is the version we give friends who ask: our price for every trip, what each one costs you in hours rather than euros, and the two we would keep if we had to give up the rest.
Fix one thing in your head before the numbers start. Excursion prices here are per person, in euros, and they are our own published rates. Transfers work the opposite way round: those are quoted per vehicle, so the figure covers the whole car whether one of you travels or seven. Confusing the two is the misunderstanding we untangle most often on WhatsApp, and it is far cheaper to sort out now than at the roadside.
The awkward facts are in here as well. Paradise Valley can be close to dry. Marrakech takes the entire day and returns you after dark. If either of those rules a trip out for you, far better to learn it while you are still choosing than at dawn outside your hotel.
The full price list: twenty trips, per person
Below is everything we run and what we charge for it. Every figure is a from price, per person, in euros. Almost nobody in Agadir puts the whole range on a single page, which is why comparing operators is such a slog. Take the table first, then read the sections underneath it for the things a price cannot tell you.
One caution while you read it. A €15 city tour and a €70 buggy run are not competing for the same slot. The city tour is orientation you can absorb on a jet-lagged first afternoon. The buggy takes a real bite out of a day and delivers a very particular kind of fun. Rank the list by what it does to your calendar first and by what it costs second.

The five that fill up first, and who they actually suit
What sells most is not what suits everyone. These are the five that book out earliest, each with the case for it and the case against it set out plainly.
Paradise Valley, from €25 per person. Palms, natural rock pools and cliff walls standing over the water, an hour or so up into the High Atlas from the coast. It is more or less the picture people carry of Morocco beyond the resort strip, and on a good day the place delivers it. One condition, set out in the section below: the water is the entire point, and the water is not a given.
Marrakech day trip, from €45 per person. The road runs 245 km and our transfer page times it at around 2h45 in each direction. That is the true shape of the day and wishing does not shorten it. Before you spend a day of a short holiday on it, read the comparison further down this page.
Desert safari in the Mini Sahara, from €40 per person. A whole day in a 4x4, dunes and Berber villages, and of everything we run it is the trip that most dependably puts the coast out of mind. It suits travellers who are comfortable with hours in a vehicle and are not chasing one particular photograph.
Essaouira day trip, from €40 per person. A walled medina, ramparts above the water and a fishing port that still works for a living, all of it breezier and several degrees cooler than Agadir. Take it over Marrakech if you would rather stroll a place than tackle one.
Agadir city tour, from €15 per person. The cheapest line on our list and, for anyone here for the first time, probably the best value per euro on it. Two or three hours of getting your bearings on day one makes every later decision simpler, and nobody has to be awake at six for it.
Paradise Valley: the seasonal catch
Rain decides Paradise Valley and nothing else does. Go after a wet spell and it is spectacular; people come home calling it the best day of the holiday. Go after months without rain and the pools thin out, several disappear altogether, and what is left is a handsome dry gorge with a trickle running through it. Our drivers see both versions most years, so describing only the wet one to you would be a lie by omission.
So this is how we handle it. Send us a WhatsApp in the week before you fly and we will tell you what the water is doing, from what our drivers saw on the road that week rather than from a photograph taken in a good year. If it is dry, we will say so and point you at a better use of the day. That loses us the booking and it is still the right call: a €25 seat is not worth a family standing at a dry gorge knowing we could have warned them.
With water in it, this is a straightforward full day. Without, treat it as a drive and a gorge rather than a swim, and reset what you are expecting before the car arrives.
- Excellent after rain, thin after a dry spell, and nobody can tell you months ahead which one you will get
- Ask us in the week before you travel, not months earlier when you book
- Full day, from €25 per person, hotel pick-up and drop-off included
Marrakech against Essaouira: choosing your one long day
This is the choice people lose sleep over, usually once they work out that only one of them fits. Price rarely settles it, since €45 and €40 per person are near enough the same money. What settles it is the kind of day you want to have.
Marrakech is the bigger city and the bigger commitment. Our transfer page gives the route as 245 km and roughly 2h45 each way, which is about five and a half hours of seat time before you have looked at anything. Early start, evening return. In exchange you get a city that earns its billing: the souks, the palaces, the square as the light goes. What you do not get is a gentle day, and with small children or anyone who dislikes long drives, this is the one to leave out.
Essaouira asks less of you. It is the smaller, slower, more walkable option: the medina compact enough that you are not forever deciding what to sacrifice, the port working for a living rather than for the camera, and the Atlantic wind keeping it cooler than Agadir. It rewards wandering more than it rewards ticking things off.
There is a third answer nobody offers you: do neither. On five nights, two half days and an evening will feel more like a holiday than a single thirteen-hour round trip. We would sooner say that out loud than take €90 from a couple who then lose the whole of the next day to recovering.
One separate case. If Marrakech is where you are heading next rather than somewhere you are visiting for a day, do not book the excursion at all. A one-way private transfer is a different product at a different price, and because it is charged per vehicle rather than per head, the sums change completely once there are two or more of you.
Half days and evenings, for when a whole day is too much
Most Agadir guides cover only the headline trips, which assumes you are content to write off a day at a time. On a short stay, or with small children, plenty of people are not. So here is the shorter end of the list.
For part of a day on the Atlantic without leaving the area, the boat trip at €40 per person. For something active in a half day slot, the quad at €40, sandboarding at €45 or the buggy at €70: each takes a slice of a day rather than all of it. And the hammam and spa at €40 is what people book on the morning the weather turns, being the only thing on the list that improves when the sky does not.
Shorter still: €20 a head covers the souk visit, the medina visit or camel riding, €30 buys horse riding along the shore, and Crocoparc at €25 holds children's attention without fail. Color Village Timlalin, also €30, pairs a painted village with dune country and photographs better than almost anything at that price.
The Fantasia Berber night show, €60 per person, is the evening slot. It is the most theatrical thing we sell, and people either love it or find it staged. If horsemen, fire and a feast sound like your evening, book it. If that sentence has already lost you, leave it.
Travelling with children: what works and what to skip
Parents ask two things. Which trips will a five-year-old put up with, and will the car have a proper seat in it. Take the second one first: child seats, baby and booster, are available on request and subject to availability, so give us your children's ages when you book and the right seat is fitted before we come to collect you. You do not carry it and you do not install it. The reason this comes up at all is that Agadir's grand taxis carry no child seats whatsoever.
On the trips themselves, be honest with yourself about hours in a vehicle. Crocoparc, €25 per person, works at virtually any age. Camel riding at €20 and the horse riding on the beach at €30 are short, outdoors and finished before anyone unravels. The €40 boat trip suits older children. The €15 city tour is brief enough to be a soft landing on day one.
The ones to weigh carefully with a young child are the long road days: Marrakech, Essaouira, Legzira and Tiznit, and Taroudant and Tioute. All of them are good trips and none of them is short. If you want one anyway, give us the ages when you enquire and we will walk you through how the timings usually run with children in the car.
Six or more of you: run the multiplication first
Per-person pricing bites hardest here, and group organisers tend to discover that at the bottom of a spreadsheet. Excursions are charged per head, so every extra person multiplies the total. Here is what that looks like in practice, set against our own published from prices.
There is no catch in the table below. It is multiplication, and it is the multiplication people put off doing until after they have already promised the family a day out.
At six or more, message us before you book anything: group size, ages, and how many vehicles you think it takes. We publish no private-vehicle rate for day trips and we are not going to invent one on this page. What you will get is a firm figure in writing before you commit, and if per-person tickets genuinely work out better for your party, we will tell you that instead.
One thing that does make life easier for a large group: the vehicles we operate are listed with real seat and luggage counts rather than the vague minibus label the booking sites use. The Vito takes 7, the Ford Tourneo 8, the Land Cruiser 6, and the Sprinter and Crafter 18 each. Match the party to a vehicle before you plan the day and you avoid the classic scene of two cars turning up for eleven people.
| Excursion | Per person | Party of 4 | Party of 6 | Party of 8 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Agadir city tour | €15 | €60 | €90 | €120 |
| Camel riding | €20 | €80 | €120 | €160 |
| Paradise Valley | €25 | €100 | €150 | €200 |
| Desert safari | €40 | €160 | €240 | €320 |
| Marrakech day trip | €45 | €180 | €270 | €360 |
| Fantasia night show | €60 | €240 | €360 | €480 |
Five questions worth putting to any Agadir operator
Ask these of us and of everyone else on your shortlist. They are the questions that separate an operator who is still answerable on the day from a web page that sells your booking on to somebody you will never speak to.
Put them in writing, on WhatsApp or by email, and keep the answers. An operator who replies to all five in plain language before any money changes hands is rarely the one who leaves you standing in a car park.
- Per person or per vehicle? Our excursions are per person and our transfers are per vehicle, and any serious operator can tell you which without pausing.
- Is hotel pick-up and drop-off included, and from which hotels? Ours is. If you are staying up the coast rather than in Agadir itself, say so when you enquire so we can confirm the timing.
- Does the day include shopping or cooperative stops? Push for a plain yes or no. A day with two sales stops folded into it is not the day you thought you were booking.
- How and when do I pay, and will I need dirham? With us it is cash to the driver on the day, in euros or in dirham. Nothing is paid online, there is no card payment and no deposit to leave. Dirham is hard to get hold of before you fly, so knowing this in advance matters more than people expect.
- Who am I actually dealing with? Ask for a name and a number. Ours is a WhatsApp line a person answers: Atlas Luxury Transfers is a registered Agadir company trading as COMPANY TRENTIEME, ten years on these roads, with chauffeurs working in French, English and Arabic. The price is fixed and confirmed in writing before you travel, and whoever confirms it is answerable for the day.
A week that works, if you would rather be handed a plan
For a first visit of roughly a week, based in or near Agadir, this is the shape we would suggest. Move things around freely: it is a starting point, not a rule.
Day one, arrive and do very little. If you land early and still have something left, the city tour at €15 per person is about the right level of ambition for a first afternoon, and it makes the rest of the week easier to plan.
Day two, keep it short and outdoors. Camel riding at €20, horse riding at €30, or the souk at €20 if you would rather be in the thick of it. You are still finding your feet, and a full day would be lost on you.
Day three, the big one. Paradise Valley at €25 if the water is running, the desert safari at €40 if it is not, Essaouira at €40 for a town rather than a landscape, Marrakech at €45 if you are certain you want the longest day available.
Day four, nothing at all. Beach, hotel, or the hammam at €40 if the weather turns against you.
Day five, the second trip, and keep it to a half day. The boat trip at €40, quad biking at €40, Crocoparc at €25 with children in tow, or Color Village Timlalin at €30.
Day six, an evening instead of a day out. The Fantasia show at €60, if that sounds like you.
Day seven, leave it clear. If your flight out is early the next morning, tell us the night before and we will confirm the pick-up by message so you can sleep without setting three alarms. We track the flight and dawn departures are ordinary work for us, not a favour.
